Following on from something that was posted on another thread, What piece of music would you like to be played at your funeral.

Mine is Born Loose by Rod Stewart and has been for many years.

I think it kinda sums up the way i have lived my life so far anyway lol

Funny you should post this, I went to a funeral the other week and was asked the same question.

With my warpped sick mind I cam up with the follwoing quick as a flash,

If buried, going underground by the Jam

If Cremated (spelt wrong) Another One Bites The Dust by Queeen.

Until then I hadn't really thought about it and still havent, but I would liek a few songs I like at the moment, Kite by U2, November Rain by Guns N Roses.

To be honest I would pick soijething different and happy, would want to be remembered as a happy time and not a sad time. One thing is certain, black is not an option on the day, want them to wear what they want and remember the happy times no the sad times x

Seriously, Nora Jones - The Long Day is Over is so poignant - had it at my Mum's funeral because it's beautiful - so would have that as well as Morning has Broken - a true antithesis Z xx

His wife chose 'Gone Too Soon' by Michael Jackson and it had me in floods of tears.

some people think they understand what people feel losing a man or woman coming home from war but untill it happens they will never know, im out of the army now but would like to go back but the war we are fighting at the min is a losing battle sadly and i disagree with the way are troops are being treated.

Well we have friends that went back out with 40 Commando a few weeks ago, their third Helmand tour, more of our mates going back out in the Autumn to Kajaki Dam.

All I can say is thank god we have these brave young men....

brave yes, but goverment not doing everything they can for ex and serving members, turns me thinking of how we get greated..

Never hear our friends complaining to be honest, their first tour saw shortages in equipment but they reckon it's only helicopters they are short of now.....RM's don't complain much anyway.

I'll come and play it for whoever that was live if he/she wants? lol

Personally theres this piece of music my brother wrote on the piano, guess you'd call it classical, he wrote it while I was really young, and I always loved it, it's very moving. I always said to him he'll have to teach me it so I can play it at his funeral, lol. He said no chance, he'll be playing it at mine!

So I guess it would be that!

I have planned my funeral and chosen my music.

I will be carried in to the church to I'm still standing (Elton John)

Other songs to be played are

Always look on the bright side of life

Girls just wana have fun

And be carried out to I've had the time of my life.

Those who really know me will know why all these have been chosen.

I remember the Queen Mother's funeral when the royal men marched behind the gun carriage carrying her coffin to the sound of bagpipes playing "Mist Covered Mountains of Home", and "Oft In The Stilly Night". Very powerful, very emotional, and those pipes were truly haunting.
