Mr.

I work in social housing and see it every day all day.

Lot's of decent hardworking people out there.

However there is a vast quantity of people who don't deserve a thing, think the world ows them a living and have zero respect for anyone or anything.

Ironically the people with the shittiest houses that they treat like a tip are the biggest complainers.

I have people laugh in my face daily taunting me for being a mug for working.

Blade....... now although I sympathise with your frustration at what sound like a dreadful situation regards this child's plight...

Hopefully what's you have achieved with your court action might instigate a chain of events where the relevant authorities become involved and the child's future welfare is monitored and improved,,, So well-done for that...

But I do feel its my duty to point out that the term "a one sided fight" is not really a fight at all,,,, is it?

I mean how can you have a one sided-fight...eh?

sheeeez fella pull ya socks up ....

The people who treat things with the least respect also seem to get the most help.

When I needed social housing and a hand getting back on my feet I got no help at all. Private landlords wouldn't rent to me and everyone spoke to me like I was shit on their shoe because I was on benefits.

I'm an educated, decent person who has a good work history. I've no history of anti-social behaviour, substance abuse or criminal behaviour. At the time I had a voluntary job at a nursing home and was doing everything I could to help myself. I respect others and their property and have always treated rented property as if it were my own. I've never left a rented property anything less than immaculately clean and usually far better than when I moved in.

And yet absolutely nobody would give me a chance. Rude, entitled wasters who had never worked and had no intention of doing so were prioritised ahead of me. Private landlords wouldn't even meet me to see that I was different. I was lumped into the same category as the scum. Lettings agents wouldn't add me to their books because so few private landlords will rent to benefit claimants, and few properties are within financial reach of those on HB anyway.

And yet the council wouldn't help me. They kept parroting that the private rented sector was my best bet.

I ended up living in my car and on friends' sofas for a while.

Perhaps if the rules were changed to allow better prospective tenants the help they need, and to deny help to those who frankly don't deserve it, there would be fewer problems.

Your 100% right.

You need to know how to play the system if you can then you get everything.

Honesty does not get you anywhere.

But at least you can sleep with a clear conscious.

I could rant on for page's but it won't change anything.
