Just got back from having a hysteroscopy... No local anesthetic and no pre warning that I was having it done, have to say it was very uncomfortable and so was the biopsy that was taken!

Next time I'm coming back as a bloke!

Debs, it's a long thin tube thing with a camera and it passes through the cervix and into the womb... Worse thing I've ever experienced

I had this done a few years ago, they told me to take two paracetamol beforehand, two years later in the day ward the woman in the next bed was having it done under anaesthetic, because they had decided it was too painfull without!!

Glenrothes

I had to have a colcoscopy recently. That wasn't the problem, it was the injection into the cervix and the laser treatment that was bloody awful. First time round, I didn't know what to expect. Second time round, I thought I was going to faint!

If I had known that I was having it done I would have taken painkillers before hand.

Big hugs Lucy.

I decided a while ago to let it all out if it hurts, so I mutter and shout and even scream. I work on the principle that as long as I don't squirm or flinch and don't swear or call them names that I'm entitled to make a fuss when it hurts.

I'm not popular with those waiting to be seen next though the nurses don't mind.

The poor lady who went in after me and who was waiting in the waiting room looked a tad worried when I came out, my friend said she could hear me from the waiting room..

I'm very vocal when they're trying to get blood - I have terrible veins and it can take 6 or 7 goes just to get 20ml, occasionally more! So I frequently walk back out into a waiting room full of white panicky faces.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Poor Lucy. I hope you feel less sore soon.

I am so glad I don't have to go through any of those procedures ever again. They gave me the ultrasound before inserting things, which helped, I think, as they saw where they needed to go.
