notts

just been on the ITV news about estate agents who are charging the seller as per usual, but are now charging the buyer a "finders fee" too

in the example given on the news, the sellers charge on a £200.000 house is £180, and the buyers fee is 2% of the purchase price.... around £4800

allegedly, this is already common practice in 35% of house sales in the south east

If any business deserved to lose out to Internet Trading it's the good old estate agents.

East Sussex

I'm not an estate agent but I'm pretty sure they can't all be bad. We've come across a couple if very decent ones when we've been buying property prepared to do the groundwork and work for a sale.

Property is a mug off.

Looking at property as a rev stream to my mind is pointless.

Everyone wants a piece of the action, the piece you get left with the Tax man wants...I expect.

Titz Towers, North Notts

I once looked into buying a place to rent, but didn't like how the numbers worked so paid of the mortgage instead. I thought that a better idea.

You just negotiate the price accordingly as long as you know upfront.
