In fruit cake, which I find too rich anyway, anyone else have an aversion to the candied peel?

This turns my stomach and is a bit like the the gherkin in a cheeseburger... "WHIP IT OUT!!" anyway that's just me, some will say that the green bit is the best part.

Bristol

I have yet to encounter a bad cake. If given a choice I tend to head towards the chocolate or cherry but I am magnanimous in spreading cake love around. Even a humble madeira will do in a pinch, especially if there is custard nearby.

1) Coffee & walnut.

2) My Nan's chocolate caramel shortbread (if that's allowed in the cake category)

3) Fresh Cream Victoria sponge.

All have to be eaten with a fork - that's the cake law !
