Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

If you haven't seen it the Dan Cruikshank programme "The Bridges That Built London" is on BBC4 at 11pm tonight.

A bit of history, a bit of architecture and the River. Brilliant.

My great grandad helped build Chelsea Bridge.

Wow! I walked over Chelsea Bridge a couple of weeks ago.

I have a soft spot for Albert Bridge - I can see it from the bed when I visit a special person.

My favourite view from a bridge is Waterloo Bridge, the ones I use most are London or Albert. But if you cross Westminster Bridge at midday when the sun is out the railings cast a shadow of hundreds of cocks and they get bigger as the sun moves.

I like the approach north on Waterloo Bridge as you get such a lovely view of Somerset House.

I haven't noticed the shadow cocks on Westminster Bridge but I will be looking now.

I'm crossing London Bridge on Thursday.

Yes, really annoying. They do this in Italy and now people are doing it all over the place.

I think Waterloo if it's upriver and down river, but Lambeth Bridge from the south bank looking down towards the houses of parliament and westminster bridge is an awesome sight

Although a trip under the bridges and then crossing at Greenwich (O2) on the cable car is good too.

Yes. Isn't a sign of love or something ? You scratch yours and your loved ones initials on them. I think that's it anyway.

It must be a mighty big bridge to swing from Manchester to London.

He is a very interesting guy and his enthusiasm for the subject in hand is delightful. He reminds me of my Physics teacher at school, totally enthralled in the subject.

There was a programme on recently with him talking about our great municipal parks that was fascinating.

I have seen the bridges one and it is just as good

One of my favourite bits: the story of London Bridge and the trust that continues. Now a charitable trust operating under a special Cy Pres and giving money to all sorts of projects in London.
