Hi I have an ipod classic, which I've had for years. It has always worked really well but I've tried to connect it to iTunes and it says connected on the ipod itself but is not showing in the devices list - I've not had this problem before and the iTunes help is of no help lol!

Anyone have any ideas please?

I have similar issues with other devices not showing on the list, I either clear the cache or restart PC and then it does always reappear.

Not saying this will work for you but worth a try, hopefully someone else can help you more.

I had this problem too but solved with change of cable and used a different port. Don't know why but it worked! X

And USB chargers have minds of their own. I have a 5th gen iPod that charges find from the wall then often when connected to the pc it will tell me that my iPod is not supported by this product or some such nonsense. Sadly I am married to a computer. My advice is to eschew digital courtships.

I had this with iPhone recently. Googled "iPhone not recognised by computer" and it took me to the apple site with a very easy to follow few steps that sorted it.

Try a different USB port as a quick fix before the rebooting palaver.
