Just read on bbc news page that earl sonething or other has put a lake district mountain yes thats right how the hell can someone own a mountain apparently it along with other land in area has been passed down over generations.

Owning land i can go along with but for someone to own a fooking mountain is ridiculous to say the least in my _iew.

Seems his father passed away and sale is to.pay inheritance tax which is far better than lives of tenants etc losing livelihoods is good but just do not understand how someone can own a mountain.

Angus & Findhorn

He was on the Jeremy Vine show, £9m in inheritance tax as he has no children of his own and has to pay this.

There is a Facebook/Twitter campaign to raise the money in the UK

It's land - it's just in the form of a mountain. Z

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

If he squashed it flat or mined it would be it more acceptable that he owned it?

I hope it remains in UK ownership and access rights aren't eroded.

Access rights would be eroded if he mined it because it wouldn't be there anymore
