No it isn't as seeing a picture of someone isn't the same as meeting in person and besides at least them you know that the two match, if that makes sense. Too many times I've gone to meet someone only to find they don't look like their picture.

However there are those who prefer to meet without a social and I've been told to join a dating site cos I don't belong on here

We dont have a social meet first as we usually meet at Chams and have a chat there, i find chit chat boring and pointless so never bother with a social meet first.

You do what ever is comfortable for you .i toohave social meet first for the reason already mentioned . Most guts are fine with that. The ones who aren't and start with the "it's not a dating site" tosh ..well if they aren't concerned with a woman feeling comfortable and safe , also respecting their boundaries then clearly not someone I'd be wanting to meet anyway .

That's exactly how I feel. No offence to the women that do, each to their own but it's something I will stick to. Yes things may progress during the meet but if it doesn't then at least there are no expectations

I wouldn't be able to just meet a total stranger and drop my knickers. I like to chat abit and get to know them, then social meet to check spark,(if they ever bloody show up!) that's not to say play is ruled out, but meet in public so the option is there to make excuses and walk away. If a guy doesn't have the patience to dotthis, then I wouldn't want to have sex with him anyway, x

I have to chat on phone first before I even get to the social meet. If I can't chat to someone on phone then no way will I be able to talk face to face. Have meet as a social and then gone on to play straight away. Works for me and I'm sticking to it

I've also been slated for insisting on a social meet first! One guy refused to meet me in a pub (which was a nice quiet one) as he said he wanted to talk to me not shout at me and was trying to insist that I went to his house! Silly silly man...AS IF !!

I insist, not for safety reasons in my case, but because some people don't live up to their profile. Fortunately it's been very few but I have been in a very embarrassing situation more than once. As a single woman, I'd think you were very foolish not to have a public social meet first. If it goes well, you can always take it further there and then if convenient. Keep safe xx
