What is it with

Well this must be a man thing but what is it with this Pandora charms stuff it's just bloody expensive costume jewellery. I'd understand if it was gold!!! Can someone please explain why so many get conned?

I don't understand it myself. They look very pretty but very expensive. You can get similar looking ones for £20.

Real pandoras are about £60 for the bracelet alone. No charms! Charms are about £35 -£60 each. So if you are into that sort of thing £20 is a bargain as they contain about 5charms.

No it isn't just a man thing.

I don't get the point either. They are nothing remarkable except in clever marketing...

I know a few brain dead females who wiggle their bracelet at you and say something like ...... Bill got me this one for my birthday and show me a pea sized ball on their bracelet that cost far more than it's worth.

To me they are like those magazines that cost x pounds per month. By the time you've filled your binder you've spent more than your house cost....

Not for me.

The charms are made of silver. Sometimes with gold. I wouldn't call it 'costume' jewellery. Still pricey though....and a wheeze to hook you into buying the things in perpetuity. My heart sank when my mother said she would start off several bracrlets with different colour themes....

It's not a man thing. I don't get it either. There's far better, nicer and less costly costume jewellery out there!

I guess it's people's preferences and this person would prefer something else

My daughter has a gorgeous pandora ring,it cost no more than the same thing would have in any other jewellers

I've had a few shake their wrists at me. I like jewellery but thought they were a bit naff.

I have one that was bought for me by my son and his girlfriend for Christmas 3 years ago. They also got my daughter one and us both the same charm. For me it means so much as all my kids miles away. They have got me a new charm each Christmas and as naff as some think they are I wouldn't change it for anything.

I don't like dangly bracelets so I don't have a Pandora, however I have a Nominations bracelet which is a wristband type with non dangly charms, I completed my name with some of my birthday money (£40 per charm) and the charms vary from £20 to £40 odd each, I think mine has probably cost me about £600 so far - some may think it's expensive tat but I like it and each charm I've bought means something to me (although when I explain the charms to non swingers I say that the Swallow charm is because I like the freedom birds have rather than I like to swallow). If someone wants to spend money on jewellery then fair dos, I try not to criticise personal choice
