Uh... were you guys not watching the same race as me then?

3 safety cars, 3 major crashes, and one final bend racing incident that may or may not be allowed.

Ok, so its not British Touring cars style dodgems and "swapping paint", but its still up there for entertainment.

I love all motorsport. I don't claim to know who is who or what's going on but I really enjoy watching it.

Especially when there are accidents

Well the BBC coverage is poor, no repeat later in the evening as ITV always did. Not everybody is around at that time on a Sunday!

Menston near Ilkley

Such a pity that people cant sit at home in their armchairs and be entertained by watching people being maimed or killed in high speed crashes!

I really do feel for the original poster his Sunday has been decimated. I suggest watching a film or even playing a computer game where he can crash to his hearts content.

So you're criticising an event you didn't see?

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

"...... the brisca variety "

Blimey! That takes me back too many years for me to mention!

My memories are of Ringwood Raceway run by a guy called Gerry Dommet (who had a passing resemblance to Boss Hogg from the Dukes Of Hazzard!)F1 cars powered by Yankee V8s and Formula 2 cars powered by Ford 100E sidevalve engines!

The late 1960`s, I think!

In fairness, Monaco is never about the overtaking... it always has been and probably always will be a 2-hour procession with the order based on whoever did well in quali.

I've always thought that Monaco exists on the F1 calendar solely because it's where all the deals get signed, as it's nothing more than the playground for the fat cat businessmen who fund the F1 teams we love and hate.

Even though it's been a part of F1 for so long, it seems to me that the history of the circuit is more about F1 being the sport of choice of the jet set, rather than the circuit being steeped in history because of racing, like Silverstone or Interlagos or Spa.

Saying that, I'd hate to see it not be a part of F1.

Improvements I'd like to see added to F1 include the abolishing of qualifying, removing the blue flag rule, removing the engine quotas because it just forces teams to drive conservatively, limit the amount of downforce cars can generate, bring back the V10 engines... but most importantly of all, they should have sprinklers that are randomly activated during each race

I think that this season has started quite well, more exciting than of recent years with some of the changes that were made, I do think that a lot of the technical gear should be dispensed with and get back to man and machine racing - far more exciting! Z
