Depends what style you're looking for.....don't laugh but Tesco have some gorgeous dresses at the moment and I'm sure most of the styles are in larger sizes. I bought a few recently. Go online - they have a bigger selection than they do in-store

i'd go with eBay. read descriptions carefully and geta larger size than you may think you need. getting it altered to fit you won't cost much. you'll stay well within your budget.

Torbay

I was at a wedding yesterday and was having exactly the same problem. Eventually found the perfect one in Bon Marche. Don't laugh... I know it can be for oldies. But honestly their dresses are really flattering and I had loads of compliments all day yesterday.

Good luck with your search and enjoy the day

T xx

I agree thay even the most bizarre of places that you would never dream of shopping in normally can really surprise you at times.

I always think that the correct cut and styling and material of dress is more important, as you can add your own emblishment and accessories

little house on the praire

I've just worn a beautiful dress this morning for a christening, I had it for a wedding last sounds just like your looking for. I think I got it from oxendales. Its a size 22. I do know it was quite a bit more than £50 but you can have an account where you pay so much of a month with them

Somewhere in North Norfolk

Marisota, although that may well be out of your budget range.

Your not that old OP so be careful with Oxendales who I find better for the older lady.

I can vouch for Carolina Dress Room whom I've bought from a few times, but of course that depends on whether you like 50s style dresses.

Try Asos Curve who have a range of different dresses from budget to designer inspired wear. Monsoon do some great prints too
