Use savoy cabbage, it's after effects are less than white cabbage (and it tastes a lot nicer too) - and steam it, not boil.

white cabbage only has one useful purpose... coleslaw ! lol

we having Savoy anyway - though have boiled it, but not til its a mush lol

Menston near Ilkley

White cabbage cut into strips, very little water in bottom of pan, a good knob of butter, lots of black pepper. Lid firmly on the pan, boil ten minutes or so till 'al dente' PERFECT

Happy to confirm that Savoy cabbage not overcooked doesn't have the same after effects as say brussel sprouts

i give it ten so its got a nice crunch but dont have it often the ozone layer has enough problems without us contributing to it xx

I've never understood the need for people to eat things that smell like farts when they're cooking. For me, cabbage, broccoli, sprouts, etc are ones to avoid at all times, not just pre-meet.

but do taste good if cooked properly
