Lion poo. Or chilli oil along the top of your fence. Apparently. Although I welcome cat intrusions so only have my auntie's word for these methods...

a straightjacket

How are they destroying the roses and trees....are they spraying? Gonna say if they were pooing and burying, then it will do wonders for your roses

We have cats so not sure of any deterrent...cats will roam I guess

They see their reflection and think it's another cat, so they sod off to find their own territory.

Get your own cat

To stop them cropping put gorse bush cutting on the flower bed

I spent 5 years being outsmarted by a cat that used to use the area by my front door as a toilet

Got my own cat and now i don't get any cat crsp in my garden

Zoo poo - they think the territory has been marked and claimed by a much bigger, badder predator.

Years ago I used 'scent off' from pet shops.

There's probably better stuff now.

I'm still confused how a cat can destroy roses and trees. Are you sure is a cat and not an elephant?

Cats don't like curry plant or lemon balm. If they are using the sane way in plant lemon balm in the way cos they don't like the texture.

Curry plant they don't like cos of the smell, so plant where they are toileting.

Now it's approaching summer

It's a good excuse to get the super soakers out

Mix a mild concoction of water and lemon juice and go rambo on them

No. Really stupid idea. Would you like lemon juice in your eyes ears etc?!

Olbas oil or similar where they come into garden, over fence etc, as above, those kind of plants will deter as they don't like the smell, cats wander, can't be helped, harming them is just cruel.

I am sure big cat poo for sale from zoo's was banned due to COSH regulations, its classed as hazardous waste! You can buy lion poo pellets but how effective it is I could not say. Orange peel works but the most effective thing I found was my dog when I had him. He hated cats and not one would set foot in the garden after a few weeks of him chasing them out. Cat poo is not good for plants unless composted and mixed with organic matter due to a cats high meat diet.

" Or chilli oil along the top of your fence. "

I got into a lot of trouble here with the cat lovers for suggesting a cure that required hot English Mustard...

Think you may be sailing into some hotter water with a chilly solution!

Put some jalepeno chillies in some cat food and leave it outside for them to eat.

No idea if it will keep them away but you have the satisfaction of knowing its gonna hurt them as much as shitting in your garden hurts you!

North of The Wall - youll need your vest

Ive been using Verve cat repeller granules from B&Q - has garlic oil and orange oil in it.

Has definitely done the trick so far although it smells a bit the first day you put it down.

Please, please tell me that the 'fishing hooks' bit was a very off colour and poor attempt at humour??

Had same problem tried everything for years. Moth balls, pepper, curry powder, gels, tin foil attached to string, sprinkler left on over night, mirrors round garden, catapult with waterbombs. Used to wait for hrs.

Eventually got our own cat a big fuck off moggy. From rspca. Resue centre in Southall. Worked a treat.

Only problem was we could not get in garden as was scared of being mauled by big fat pussy.

He slept outside would never come in house and was very protective of his patch.

He was called Arnold after Mr swartzenegger

We have two cats and a massive German Shepherd. The dog gets all hot under the collar and starts whining whenever the cats stare at him. As a cat shit deterrent he is useless. As a dog poo deterrent, he is worse than useless!

I'm afraid not. I actually heard someone suggest that method, during a similar discussion.

Can't stand cats myself,but wouldn't harm one.

"They don't destroy trees or plants.

Oh yes they bloody well do. They dig to shit and don't care if your prized plants get dug up at the same time. Their piss is also poisonous to young plants. They kill wild birds and generally are a fucking nightmare. I hate the bastards. Of all the solutions above, the 12 bore gets my vote, although it would be a tough decision whether the cat got it or the sanctimonious owners who don't give a fuck about where their pet moggie shits as long as it isn't in their own back yard.

God how I hate cats.
