Only Fools and Horses for me too. Several others come close but Del Boy and Rodney are top of the bill

Not only was it very funny, but some of the stuff that Grandad said was quite moving, especially when he was telling Rodney about his upbringing...it got quite dusty in my living room the first time I saw that

Lots of shows are very much of a time meaning that funny at that point in time.

Think of some of the shows that were huge in 60's 70's 80's 90's and 00's few. Would be found funny or would be successful today.

But finding a show that transcends era, class, age, race etc. Is difficult.

Never been a fan of the oooerrrrr misus, homophobic, racist, xenophobic. Shows that were rife.

But fools and horses is probably one of the few that would be funny any time or era.

Today however am a huge fan of Brooklyn nine nine. Not everyone's cup of tea.

Jools hates it tho. Lol.

Titz Towers, North Notts

There are a lot of good comedies out there. There are some really clever ones and really daft ones, plus some niche ones.

For great pace and good writing I really love The Phil Silver's Show (Bilko). Nat Hiken was a genius and packed so much into 25 minutes.

Similar is Yes Minister, which again was so well written.

Police Squad probably has the highest gag per minute ratio of anything I've ever seen.

There is also Nightingales, which is a bit niche, but was extremely surreal and good fun to watch.

Del Boy was good, but went on too long and I think the best moments have to carry an awful lot of stuff that isn't that great.

Fawlty Towers is brilliant, Porridge and Only Fools and Horses are too.

Suprised no one mentioned Blackadder, that is really good, superbly written and acted.

Early Doors was finely crafted. There was a lot of very good observational stuff in there about Northern pubs.
