Eight months pregnant and instead of preparing for a monumental event seeking dates? Priorities all wrong, probably the reason they're up the duff on their own!

"Maybe they are fed up of being treated like an incubator for a baby which was not planned, with a guy who is no longer on the scene, and needing a bit of company / cheering up / attention. hence going on a date. Doesnt necessarily mean they are looking for a meal ticket or step dad for their baby or are not getting prepared for the arrival of their baby. Just means they are human. entitled to make their own choices as a person not just as a mother to be. "

"I would of gone on a date if someone had asked me when I was pregnant but I wouldn't of had sex with them " but if you had a partner would you have sex with them? I see no harm in continuing to date or swing whilst pregnant once you're being careful. To me it's no different

To me it's no different " I was still with my partner when I was pregnant so this is hypothetical as we still had sex, not often towards the end as I was very uncomfortable with SPD. However. No I wouldn't of had sex with anyone else whilst pregnant, no matter how careful you are some stds can still be passed on and can be very harmful to a unborn child. So it is different in my eyes.

How can she put energy and time into both a new baby and a new man?

So she could go on a date or repeat dates Boost her self esteme, enjoy some company, and generally have a nice time. Without any negative effect on the unborn child. Guess it depends on the date. The ppl involved and weather or not the date leads to anything more intimate or long term. Seems to me like some ppl on here read far too much into the terms 'date' and 'dating' As for dating after recently having a new baby why is it selfish for a new mum to want to date ? As long as she is not neglecting her baby surely she is entitled to still be herself in her own right If means going on a date or going to the hairdressers or still makong time for her own hobbies or whatever. I didnt realise becoming 'mum' meant you had to automatically give up being 'you'

"better to have a content mum who has got a man than a not very happy mum who is on her own, i would of thought. she could end up resenting her child." I understand that being a single parent can be lonely but surely if that's where her priorities lie (to the point that she ends up resenting her child), it should be considered that being a parent isn't for her?...

"I dont feel its right either. When you're pregnant then you do have other priorities which should be put first, ie the baby, ensuring you are eating healthily, mentally preparing for that life changing moment as well as fhe practicalities of getting together all your baby needs, ensuring a safe home etc. " Absolutely agree, is the risk worth it.

"if a man and pregnant partner broke up, should he still be allowed to date or should he focus on being a parent and all the changes in his life? quite frankly, there's nothing morally or ethically wrong with a woman dating whilst pregnant. a woman is capable of eating properly, attending check ups, nesting, working and socialising.... even if part of socialising is going on dates. " Well said

Once the child is old enough to be left with a baby sitter then fine.

" that may well be how you feel, and would be your choice. however, others are entitled to live their lives according to their choices. the same as we are entitled to run our fab accounts according to our tastes. dating does not, by any stretch, mean that your child isn't your Main priority. it means that you are human and seeking to live life. the belief that we women somehow turn into something intangible and other worldly due to bring pregnant is, in my opinion, archaic at best. it does women an egregious injustice.
