The most shameful thing

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

What is the most shameful thing you have done? The one that you truly regret and that changed you.

I stole £1 from my mum's purse when I was twelve. I knew we were poor and I knew she would blame my dad. It was only as I got a little older I realised how vital that £1 was to our family coffers.

I still feel ashamed to this day when it comes to mind. It also cured me of wanting to steal anything.

It's good to know it about yourself, especially if it stops you bullying into adulthood.

I broke my youngest child's favourite toy in a temper after he'd hit his brother with it.

He'd made him bleed but I overreacted. Thinking of his face makes me sad. I've probably done worse but this stuck in my head.

I once treated an ex badly when I was at Uni. For some reason she thought the world of me and when we came to split I didn't do it as tactfully as I should have done.

I purposefully ruined a relationship for spite and revenge when I was 19 . she slept with my ex and ruined my relationship, so a year later I slept with the man she was then in live with and sent her a photo.

11 years later and I'm still ashamed of my actions.

I think I was an awful child.

My parents say I wasn't too bad and I could have been a lot worse. I never took drugs or got into trouble with the police or any of the things some children, even children of their friends, did.

A lot of the things I am ashamed of now were due to immaturity and a lack of understanding, (I knew they were wrong but I didn't fully realise the potential consequences for others).

I feel very guilty about some things.

Even things like having a tantrum because my parents couldn't afford to buy me something I wanted when I was 8 or 10 or thereabouts.

I've said and done some things that with an adult's perspective make me cringe.

Just pop into a church and make you confession then. Look upon it as free counselling. They won't ask your denomination and you may feel better.

Not evil I don't believe any child is truly evil but usually an very damaged child!! Research shows a link between children who are being abused who in turn abuse animals as they cannot fight back. Likelihood even if you'd tried stopping it would have just delayed the inevitable

I agree and disagree with that. I agree with the point that people do wrong for a reason. However I do agree some children/people just do it because they enjoy the outcome.
