Biased information

Do you take information as read, do you look for other points of view, do you stick with what suits your ethos or are you open minded to other points of view and facts available?

Generally open minded, read a number of articles on a topic if possible. It's interesting how many different views and opinions there are even on scientific topics.

Global warming/Climate Change is a perfect example.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I'm open minded and see out other views but I trust some sources, particularly those that present other views as part of their argument.

if I have an opinion that I feel strongly about I will defend it,but if im proven wrong I can quite easily accept that, but it has to be proven without a doubt

I'm that annoying git on facebook who when someone shares a link of dubious provenance, such as 'look out for this person he's a bad hat' with no credible supporting evidence, goes onto hoaxslayer or snopes and digs out the truth

I am open enought to allow my assumptions to be tested. I seek feedback or evidence that disconfirms my theories. I look for trustworthy sources on things subjects that interest me and enjoy multiple perspectives. I am always willing to learn and admit or apologise when I'm wrong.

i question everything. my lecturers hate it. i think that very often answers lie in a mixture of seemingly opposing points of view, so i read everything i can, dissect it, then point out the points i believe relevant from each and blend them. it's a critical thing to do but it's just the way my brain seems to work.

I try not to post or say anything unless I'm in possession of all the facts on a subject.

If it is simply a matter of opinion, then I am quite prepared to listen to other people's, but it won't necessarily change mine

As a YorkshireMan, I am always right. And as a dad, I am always right.

And if anyone tells me I'm wrong, I use google to prove that I'm right

I try to read as much about a topic as I can...hopping from article to article... Trying to be as balanced and logical as I can... Sometimes it's just hard to establish absolutes...there's much greyness in the world.

Climate change is a good example. All serious scientists accept that it is happening yer pseudo scientific opinion still abounds. It is amazing how many people still believe the hype published by PR companies that argue against it and it's devastating effects. There are at last count 157 so called grass roots organisations operating in the UK alone that oppose the idea of climate change that are all funded from the samePR firm. ... so much for truth

I try very hard to be open minded and certainly question most things I'm told whatever their source. However I am self aware enough to know that my personal beliefs will always colour any conclusion I come to, I'm not a blank canvass.

I will say things how I see them as long as its true to me that's all that matters. And I will not be bullied into other peoples way of thinking to fit in .. People see things different and I like it we are not all sheep. If I feel strongly about something hell will freeze over before I back down . The truth is what's true to me. I will not be brainwashed by others no way .

If it's on Wikipedia or been mentioned by St. Stephen of Fry on QI, then I'll fully accept it as being true and will even quote about it to others
