Not. Times change. One of my Grandads was belted from one end of the scullery to the other for saying 'Damn' in 1928

It's already told me it wants to travel to meet me, so it must be. It wants to see more pics of me, though.

"Heck means hell doesn't it ? Does that count as blasphemy?"

I think it's used as a replacement to avoid the blasphemy

I asked because it was a Childs cartoon and was surprised to hear it.

Although most cartoons have got adult humour in them and not necessarily aimed at kids.

Think most of the writers must have been on acid at the time anyway.

Was just curious, there does seem to be a lot more sex and violence on nowadays anyway.

"Just heard this on a cartoon.

How can that be swearing?...

That's like armed robbers going into a bank and yelling:

EVERYONE GET DOWN ON THE STINKING FLOOR!

Lots of common phrases and words are bastardizations of religious blasphemies or phrases. "Goodbye" is a shortening of "God be with you", "blimey" came from "God, blind me", "Jeepers Creepers" from Jesus Christ and so on.
