Which is better outta the 2 of them or is there a better one and how do you use them as I'm a newbie to them

Kik is when you don't want the other to have your phone number. Saves on a new sim if they turn stalker.

Whatsapp is simply an SMS / MMS application but free to send media - but you need to give your phone number away.

A lot use both or at least have both.
