Hi all

This is my first pregnancy and I'm

18 weeks and 5 days. Apparently you're meant to be feeling some kind of butterfly/fluttering feeling from 16 weeks and I haven't felt any of that yet. Should I be worried?

It might be wise to speak to your midwife or gp who may provide a scan...I don't think you would get a sound answer on here to be far as women experience different symptoms

With your first it can be about 20 weeks that you feel the first movements but to put your mind at rest why don't you contact your midwife. Who can listen to your babies heart. Xx

Sometimes you can't

But if at all worried speak to your midwife

Sometimes they hide at the back and you can't feel them

My boyfriend has a stethoscope and can still hear the baby's heartbeat.

Afternoon and congratulations!

I have felt flutters from about 12 weeks (am 22 weeks now) but it depends on Mummy and the positioning of baby. - I know other pregnant ladies who are further along than me who have felt nothing (apparently the most common cause is an anterior placenta) but baby has always been healthy.

First of all, congratulations!

From what I understand, at your gestation and it being your first, you will probably not feel much until around 22 weeks+ to be honest which is completely normal. Most ladies tend to find they notice the fluttering on their subsequent pregnancies rather than their first for a variety of reasons.

Having said that, if you are at all concerned you should always make an appointment to see your MW and they will be more than happy to see you.

Aww congratulations! Sure all just fine. Sometimes with your first , ya may not of realized it was that and thought for example it was a bit of wind etc! Is very slight to start with ... New to us all with first. Once he/she gets bigger you will deff know about it! No such thing as a text book pregnancy, best wishes x
