Cheeky weekly

Beano

Battle

Look and Learn

Star Lord

Action

2000ad

Doctor Who Weekly - used to have classic story adaptions in. The HG Wells' War of the World adaptation still reads as good now as it did then.

Also comics books from the States such as Conan (lots of scantily clad ladies was part of the appeal as hormones began to cut in), MAD and Doc Savage.

Never liked superhero comics by DC or Marvel though.

Also read Battlestar Galatica and the Micronauts. Both where in a small a5 format comic, can't remember what the title actually was. The Micronauts were based on a line of toys - anyone remember those?

Dad used to get Dandy for his barber's shop, so I always had a swatch at that. At home, it was usually Whizzer and Chips, Whooppee! or Topper (very apt in retrospect...).

I did get a few very early issues of 2000AD which must be worth a fortune these days.

The early issues of 2000AD were quite disturbing especially the violent death scenes. And this from someone brought up on a healthy diet of "Achtung Spitfire! Dagga Dagga Dagga!" And "Aiee Banzai!"
