Maguerite Garden, resistance courier in occupied France before moving to Scotland and becoming an ardent conservationist, aged 84

Denzil Freeth, former MP, caught up in the Profumo affair, aged 85

Peter Cheeseman, the pioneer of 'theatre in the round', aged 78

Sir Charles Mantell, judge who tried, amongst others, Rose West, aged 73

David Soyer, Cellist and founder of the Guarneri Quartet, aged 87

Just some of the great and the good that are no longer with us R.I.P
