Nope. Meat is too good not to eat.

Unless it's in a "lamb" kebab or curry

I eat fish all the time or vegan food my daughter prepares: just took some lamb mince out the freezer to make a shepherds pie later.

Catholic tradition was to abstain from meat on Fridays as a form of penance. The Catholic Church stipulates that Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of abstinence. All Catholics are mandated to abstain from meat on those days.

The tradition of every Friday is now a voluntary thing but practising Catholics are still mandated to abstain on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.

Pope Benedict (the one before this one) asked all Catholics to revive this tradition when he visited England in 2011.

This just caused an... exchange of words in our house. He's catholic and wants fish and chips, I'm on a diet and do not.

Turns out we're both wrong for not supporting the other one. So he's eating fish and chips while I hope he chokes on them lol
