Great Wyrley

So I'm killing a bit of time here on a car park in Nottingham. While I am sat here people are trying to park their cars.

Ok so yes I am confident in my own parking ability but bloody hell its not that hard or is it?

Its 2 white lines and you pull in to the space between them.

People here can't even pull in front ways let alone attempt the reverse park!!!

Quite funny to watch

ive got a civic and have no idea what the engineers at honda were thinking when they designed the spoiler cant see a thing. combine that with limo black windows at the back and ive gotta just make an educated guess of where things are when reversing

Ha, my Alfa GT has horrific rear visibility but at least Alfa saw fit to install reversing sensors as standard.

I had an appointment with a consultant the other week. Was there well early so sat in car.

Bout 20 mins later a clapped out Jag came and attempted to park next to me.

The car park was pretty empty save for me and about 3 other cars. Yet after 4 or 5 attempts to get it in a space the driver left it, diagonally, across 2 spaces.

He walked across the car park and then back to the car. Another 4 or 5 attempts and still no luck.

In the end, the lady with him said 'do you want me to park it ?' He said he did and in one or two shunts, the car was in 1 space and straight.

When I was called in for my appointment, it became apparent that the guy was the consultant I was seeing and lady was his secretary !

GULP !!!

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

Many years ago I was parked up. An old Morris Ital pulled into a space two cars away from me, the driver being a really short old age pensioner who looked like he was looking THROUGH the steering wheel, not over it. There was a bump and the car parked end on in the next row jumped foward where the Ital had hit it! Then three of the doors opened, not the driver`s one, each of the doors banging against the cars parked either side as three large OAP ladies got out of the car, the car raising on the springs, no doubt in relief of having got rid of the considerable load! Seems the poor hen-pecked husband had been pressured into taking all of these women into town for whatever. The car itself looked like it had been "parked by ear" for a year or two!

Some people just don't care. That's why I rather park the furthest away from the shops, etc.; preferably in a corner, end of an aisle, or leave a space in-between the next car. Although I still sometimes get someone parking next to me, even though there are loads of other spaces about!

I have park assist, but am yet to use it after 6 months of having it.

re the 4 x 4, don't you find that the competition is intense for that pavement area just by the school gates?

Reverse parking is easy, that's what the door mirrors are for

Watching it now.

I've never seen a guy so willing to pay a £434.00 fine.

He got pulled over and warden tells him he's got an outstanding debt and he just pulls a wad of cash out of his pocket and pays it...

Interesting to see that your local council pulls in between £6,000- £28,000 per day just from parking meter sales (excluding actual parking fines)
