Was looking at sky news it worries me .. it may all get nasty USA are now stepping things up and you know if they do we do too ... may come to that .

24 hour rolling news have to keep reporting 24/7 so they will go overboard about everything to keep interest. If the nukes arent flying then lets keep calm and carry on.

my prediction is Cold War, take 2. Putin isn't going to back down easily, the rest of Europe and the Americas won't allow this to continuefor reasons of security and national iinterest. but the match is too even, particularly with China in the balance, to go hot.

He's already crossed the line but war is not in anyones best interest. I haven't kept up to date with it all to be honest.

I don't think this is a joking matter.

We learn nothing from history. It only takes one idiot to take out, for example, a member of the Ukrainian government and this could all escalate very quickly. This part of the world is notoriously volatile and rather than laughing it off we should all hope that sense prevails.

What it does show is that Western Europe needs a sustainable energy policy so it is not reliant on Russia for its needs.

I seriously doubt US policy has changed since i last came across this but the USA are committed by treaty to use nuclear weapons to protect Taiwan if China attacks. Nuclear! Might as well worry about China's sabre rattling as well while we are at it.

nothings gonna happen.

years ago we wouldnt have heard about this til it had all blown over, now we get to hear if someone in another country sneezes and farts at the same time.

the russian foreign secretary has stayed they are dedicated to all illegally armed groups being disarmed and government buildings being handed over, in exchange for russian communities in eastern ukraine getting certain rights.

how is it any difference to protests here?

guns.

thats the only difference.

russia have a duty to protect its own citizens living in eastern ukraine.

the governments inability to maintain links with east and west seems to be more at fault than anything else

that aint happening... trust me...

the chinese are seeing what happens to russian sanctions against crimea, they have there own little spat going on about the huge oil fields in siberia, and there are lots of "ethnic chinese and chinese speakers" in eastern russia which now gives china an excuse to annex if it wants.....

the most interesting thing in the document is that all groups are suppose to disarm and disband.... which means the pro-russian groups have to leave all the buildings and give back anything they have gained....

and russia are going to be the ones held accountable if they dont.....
