deodrant

No need for styling wax/gel since I have long hair. I used a head shaver on my face. I'm not the kinda guy who uses face lotions etc.

Compared to some men, I probably spend the same or less.

I spend money on stuff to keep me clean, I don't wear makeup or paint my nails, dreadlocks just need washing and my clothes and shoe collection is good but well used. I'm not one for whatever goes on in spas but I did recently get a Groupon offer for £20 for an appointment with a podiatrist and I have an epilator that does what it's supposed to do.

I pluck my own eyebrows and would never dream of paying silly money on a moisturiser. Oh, wait, I have a bottle of that Dove browning moisturiser for my paper white, blotchy legs before I get them out for summer. Even that was on offer.

I may consider having my upper eyelids lifted in the future as they are already sitting on my eyebrows but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it,

I detest paying money for something just because it has a 'name' attached to it, they can pay me for the bloody advertising instead.

I only have costume jewellery, and not much at that because the I've never seen anything expensive that I find attractive.

It's much more expensive.

Makeup alone is a massive cost

Then waxing or whatever route you use.

Different outfits. I'm a jeans a tshirt type girl most of the time yet shoes and dresses and accessories all add up. Underwear is much more expensive.

But ultimately. It's worth it ladies. Why would you want to have the choice of about 3 colours in the shops and live the drab life.

Most of the things listed are pretty much optional luxury extras rather than necessity (excluding sanitary pads).

I personally don't buy anything like that but do occasionally treat myself (6+ months).

My regular partners don't expect me to do anything special for them. I could turn up hairy with no makeup. I make sure I'm clean and smell nice but don't have to spend hours on make up,hair and lingerie

I don't spend a lot on myself. £30 is a blowout and would probably restock my smeelys/makeup drawer easily. Clothes are from sales/ eBay.

I'd say so generally...personally I get my hair done every 4 weeks at £35 a pop...toenails every 5-6 weeks at £20, waxing is £20 - £30 a time depending which bits need doing...I've invested in my own shellac for my fingernails, that was £70 but will pay for itself as shellac fingers is £20...it's a choice though, I could manage without although doing my own hair would probably mean it'd all fall out!

I find a bra is an essential as they feel too heavy without one. My best bra (most comfortable, best support and no strain on my shoulders etc.) was £75. I have cheap ones of £7-15 but the comfort isn't as good. I've just spent £44 for a new bra set.

When I had to use sanitary products it was hugely expensive. After 35 years I was glad not to have to keep spending that money. Even at a reduced rate there is still VAT on these essential items.

I don't use expensive lotions and my make up is minimal.

I spend too much on clothes and shoes but that's not because I am female it's because I am bonkers.

It's a mixture but I have everyday make up and going out make up....the only foundation I wear is Estée Lauder...I must also have £1000 worth of perfume

Dating

Man alone = few pints and chippy on way home.

Man and woman = new shoes to impress her, new undies as favourite pair have holes in( incase we get lucky) then pick her up in taxi pay for meal then drinks then taxi back to hers ( again if lucky) then taxi home.

Valentines day

Man= wish I had a chick maybe next year. Ah well few pints and chippy on way home.

Man and woman = buying flowers and chocolates and nice underwear ( again incase we get lucky)

Wedding

Man = few beers and chippy on way home.

Man and woman = wedding planner, engagement ring, flowers, church, cars, honeymoon, suits, wedding dress, venue, beers ( all in case we get lucky)

Anniversaries

Man= few beers and chippy on way home

Man and woman = working out what each year present represents then trying to find it. Then flowers, chocolate and new undies for them bit bigger each year ( shh incase we get lucky)

So sorry but it's well more expensive to be a bloke.

And to think I felt like I was splurging spending about £30 on updating my make up bag as the stuff in there was easily over 2yrs old and I couldn't remember when I last bought anything...I do only wear make up when I go out though and that is a rarity. I don't wear make up for meets, and so far have had no complaints

it's easily done - as long as you have the disposable income (or plastic) to do it, and the inclination of course

Even as a bloke i bought 2 aftershaves and a showergel the other week that came to £123

if i remember correctly £30 to £50 on a designer lip gloss is not unusual

What costs us more are hairdressers - my shoulder length hair is quicker to trim than a man's to make sure it's layered correctly and straight etc., and dry cleaning - a man's shirt is usually much bigger than a woman's.

Why don't you act collectively and boycott certain things in rotation, hairdressers one week, make up the next, then Ms Summers etc, and maybe the prices will come down?

Then you could blow all yer savings on cake?

See this is what I tell the hubby, go and spend £250 in Mac or sefridges beauty hall, then when he asks what I have bought, tell him I spent £25 in boots lol

I think it is a lot more expensive being a woman.

I spend more on my monthly hair salon visit than he spends a year at the barbers. Eyebrow threading, pedicures, facials, hair removal, manicures etc all add up. He does not have any of that.

His moisturiser and face wash cost about twenty quid, my facial reigim products cost MANY times this!

Then clothes, shoes, bags etc needed every month, where as he can get away with just buying a few items every six months.

Gah it is easy being a man!

And our expensive make up needs replacing regularly, due to contamination and infection risks. So please dont expect us to minimise make up costs by much. And women live longer, so it is all being paid out for more years too.
