 neither my OH or I have ever claimed any form of benefit so wasn't to sure what to expect, however today's experience truly was an eye opener, what a demoralising experience it turned out to be, talk about sole destroying!!!!! it's beyond me how some manage it year after year  one day was enough for me!

"I went into work today, and got told I wasn't needed anymore as of tomorrow. I'm a contractor, so they can do that. I've now got to face up to signing on myself. Had to sign on at 9am, same time my daughter had to be at school and they only changed it after I turned into a fish wife, but I had a point. I was signing on but not getting one penny because I had a husband. The single mothers could lie in bed and have their giros delivered, didn't have to sign on, didn't seem fair to me!
Most demoralising eight weeks of my life, I don't know how people cope with it! | |||

"I hated the experience and also wondered how millions get away with doing it for years ? I know of one guy near me who protests to have a bad back and apparantly it cant be disproved by doctors. Yet every xmas there he is hanging onto a ladder putting up his horrid xmas decs

"Really sorry to hear that and in fact I feel for everybody who is going through this right now. All I can say is try not to think of it as personal failure - because it is NOT - and it is not anybody's fault we are in a recession and people are being made redundant. I hope that you and everybody else will find suitable employment/ work very soon as it can so undermine your self esteem - please dont let it xx | |||

(time and stamps etc and maybe 300 applications at times) Not right but its what happens. don't count out though as i contact ad a guy in Feb who applied for a job the previous November. companies do keep records and may get back to you later  | |||

And I have to go through it again next week! "It is soul destroying ,i went through it for a while after giving up my career to look after my terminally ill father then could not get a job after he died . Its designed to take any hope away as when you ask your advisor for help they have a maximum of 3 mins to process you ,so dont really want to know and have little to offer.It so pissed me off i went to see my MP about it ,(he has lost his job now so will know what its like) . All i can advise is hang in there ,dont let em put you down ,its not your fault your there and i really hope you find something soon | |||
