We all know them. A friend or someone who no matter when u tell them to turn up, they are always late or just don't turn up.

You know the ones, when your talking to them u know they not listening always seem to be busy with something far more important or cool.

Well they piss me right off, if it's you and u say haha lol that's me. Well let me tell you something your friends won't say to your face.

Your a rude, ignorant, selfish piss face. And the world does not revolve around you.

Please feel free to add your pet hates for people who are always late here.

The ones that piss me off the most are the ones that make me late because I'm waiting for them. I don't mind picking people up on my way to work but have told them now if they not there at right time I'm not waiting any longer. The same as if they want a lift home they either ready when I am or they can make their own way.

Wow! Have you ever walked in that late persons shoes?? Ever wonder how they manage to juggle everything people pile on them??

Have you ever that maybe their fairly envious of your organised life?

Some people (that includes me) have so many balls in the air (pardon the pun) that sometimes I'm going to be late! And yes I have thought about getting up earlier but that means there wouldn't be much point in me going to bed.

Some people ate habitual bad time keepers thats no excuse though if you know you are then you should take ectra measures to avoid being late. We always ask why people are late as at times it can be very irritating.

I admit time keeping is not one of my strong points but I am not an arrogant, selfish piss face....!!!

My friends accept me for me as I do them, faults and all ~ they simply tell me an earlier time to meet, works perfectly.

We all busy and have busy lives, with work family life and so on. We both work full time and have kids, and grandkids unwell parents who need looking after, house maintenance and personal matters so we all understand what it is to be busy.

We are busy people both work 50+hrs a week.

But we always aim to arrive wherever we go at least 15mins early. Even if it's popping to our sons for a cuppa.

I don't meet one of my friends for lunch anymore. I have an hour, she was 40 minutes late then moaned when I got up to leave to come back to work!! She's the same when we (used to) go shopping. She also drops her friends from a great height when her ex clicks his fingers. Did I say friend lol I meant ex friend

One of my pet hates I'm afraid, along with rudeness, arrogance, And people up their own arses.. "look at me look at me, im the bees bloody knees" .... and i have a daughter, who is late for EVERYTHING!! Drives me nuts...

On the flip side tho I have a friend who gets herself so stressed out, drives like a mad woman just to get somewhere on time ~ which I find bizarre.

Lateness really makes me mad. I have a lot to sort before I can go anywhere, but am always on time, usually way early.

I think the wording is a bit strong, but I have to say I agree, been late now and again is ok life does sometimes get in the way, but there are people who are always always late no matter what it is, and I find it disrespectful to the person there meeting, it shows so little respect to to be late all the time, it really does make me angry, I will give people 10 minutes, or if I'm a pub until I've finished my drink then I'm gone

For meets i'd never be late and even if i was being a bit late i'd inform them of it. I think that's a bit rude when you arrange to meet someone at a certain time and either of you are late.

Now, those who've met me at socials know i turn up a bit later than when it all starts. Now, i hope that doesn't reflect bad on me. But, to be honest - i'm just not comfortable arriving early and being the only one there (which may not be the case). I mean i rarely see people's face pics and i don't really know everyone. So, i wouldn't know who's coming or going. Not sure if all that makes sense.

I know all of that is an area of improvement on my part. Hence, my name is down at all these socials to build my confidence up amongst crowds that i don't know or haven't met/spoken to before.

But, if it was me turning up for a meet or anything specific where we agreed a time to be there. Then i'd be there if not earlier. I think that's a whole different ball game.

That's fine, if you say your going to a social then turning up when you want is acceptable, if you say I'll be at the social at 8 and turn up at 9 then that isn't acceptable,

Definately. If you're going to set a time and people are expecting you to be there at that time and you're not there. Then that's not on.

So, for socials i really can't give a time. There's always something that comes up or something to do beforehand. And i don't like rushing for things.

Yes I have told them how it annoys me and how I think it's disrespectful of them, some accept it and continue to be late, so I have stopped going drinking with the ones that are late, as people have said you can only control your own actions so to prevent me getting annoyed I don't arrange to meet them,

Now if we are out and bump into them I'll chat and even buy them a beer they are still a friend just not one I arrange to meet anymore

Yes it's all about taking control of your own actions and how much you value someone's friendship

My real friends know what I am like & I am thankful that they make allowances for this side of me like I do with their annoying little traits.

I'm very punctual for work meetings, flight reservations, school pick ups etc so I think when meeting socially I can afford to be a little more laid back.

I respect & treasure the friendships I have in a lot different ways and to me there's a whole lot more to a person / friendship than one 'annoying 'trait.

I'm with you on this Fabio. No matter what time I leave or plan to leave half the time I will be late. But if my friends dropped me for that then I wouldn't miss them. There is a hell of a lot more to a friendship than punctuality ffs! I am there for my friends no matter what time of day or night they call, if they need to talk or for me to come around and give a shoulder to cry on, to look after them when they are ill, to mind their kids or pets, to drive them around if they haven't got transport. To go out and have a laugh, stay in and have a laugh. These are the important things in a friendship, not punctuality.

Yep, I know exactly what you mean which is why if I set a time, for some, I'll tell them I mean "white time" and not "ethnic time".

Persistent lateness means I don't bother waiting and when the inevitable call/text comes through asking where I am I tell them I'm either wherever we were planning to go or gone home and not coming back out.

My OH hates lateness with a passion and considers it the height of rudeness whereas im a little more laid back,funny because im always waiting for him

Someone who is persistently late is basically saying that their time is more important than yours and is acting in a pretty selfish way. I find it most irritating.

i find people making demands of me and insisting that their way is the only way and don't make accommodations for others rather boorish if i am honest. who says you get to make up all the rules of engagement in a friendship?
