If so, what do you enjoy most about it, and also hate most about it?

I love being able to be at home and work......I hate not being able to take time away from work very easily.

The fact that I can still make a living in spite of being far too obstinate for anybody to consider employing.

I'm self-employed, but it is more in name than anything else. I enjoy doing my own tax, but I dislike the fact I can't put leopard print on expenses

I do. I enjoy it cos it changed my life for the better. What I hate is the lack of stability sometimes.

Among the list of things a love about my career, overcoming difficult clients by sure is the best. I can't stand Inland revenue paperwork, poor accountants and admin in general.

Thanks for all the replies. I ran my own business for over 30 years. When I started, I loved the feeling of independence it gave me, not being subservient to anyone else. By the time I sold it, I was sick and tired of dealing with staff and the difficulties of getting customers to pay up on time. Since I stopped, I really miss the ability to organise time out of the office that I could use for meeting lovely women. Maybe I should start a new business!

I'm self employed with no staff. Love that I manage my time and can work from home. Hate that I could be much wealthier if I was more self disciplined

I like the money the most

I hate staff who go sick or have random days off, with no notice

The freedom to do what I like.....

The customers who tell me when to work and what to do......

The fact that I have 4 rooms (other than bathroom & kitchen) in my house and can therefore claim 1/4 of ALL household bills against tax.....

I do yeah..I have a day job too.

I have an Internet business too but admittedly I've been slacking on as of late.

I like it because I enjoy creating things..making shit happen.

I've run my own business for years.

Pluses are the freedom to start and finish when I choose, nobody telling me what to do, a reasonable living.

Negatives are ,finding someone competent enough to look after my business when I want time off, paperwork, occasionally having to chase unpaid invoices .
