I think they are showing signs of slowing down, they still got 515,000 votes yesterday though which is a drop of about 85,000.....

Under PR they'd have got 1% of the vote and 1% of the seats - 6 fascist MPs in Westminster!!

Which is why you see far right neo nazi types in the German parliament.

But if that has to be the price to pay for a fair and modern electoral system then it will have to be I am afraid.

Or we could ban fascist/nazi groups as anti-whatever!

The only problem with that is it would be open to abuse with many minor single issue candidates possibly being outlawed.

PR would possibly see Muslim extremist candidates cropping up as well......

I know. I can see why Dave the 1st wants to keep the system we have now. He can see where PR would take us. Hung if we do - hung if we don't. I say we should go for some sort of PR and deal with the ensuing problems as they crop up - other countries deal with it so we can too.

Must say that after 13 years of a government (any party), the Iraqi War, MP's expenses, Recession and UK debt, Immigration......

I think Cameron must be asking himself why the hell he didn't I win a landslide victory. Labour under Gordon Brown (officially the least liked Premier since the 1930's) was a ship holed below the waterline and sinking fast, yet HMS Cameron never had the firepower to finish it off.

Sorry but in my eyes a less than impressive performance by the opposition, should by any standards have been a landslide.....must try harder Conservative Central Office.

I think at the start of the campaign Wishey asked for predictions: I said a Tory landslide. I'm a full time trade union official and professionally we've been gearing up for a landslide Tory win, as even we dislike the way the Labour party has treated public sector workers.

I agree with you the Tories really need to do better.

I almost felt sorry for Cameron trying to spin the results!

Not going to do the rehearsing of all your arguments: As the least liked PM for years he is also the most trusted to get us out of the shit that started in the US, destroyed Iceland and Greece and Spain is next ... and my ma lives there ... Ostriches ... x

Something I heard on TV yesterday, a reference to a Twitter post that said:

"It seems we have a PM we did't vote in, and one we can't vote out either."

Kinda sums it all really, don't it.

by the end of next week your man will be in No 10.

I hope you will still be crowing over the demise of Brown in 12 mths time, personally I believe that we are in for a massive hike in unemployment and a huge cut in the standard of living for all but the super rich.

I truly hope I am wrong but cant see it.

A hike in unemployment and huge cuts right across the board is inevitable whoever is in No.10.

And this thing about the super rich greedily grabbing all the dosh is different to exactly which point in history? Hasn't the powerful always done that? Stop moaning about it. That's life.

actually.... it is really weird...

with the way that the results ended up, why does it feel like we have 3 party leaders..5 including the SNP and Plaid.... and none of the them "won" as such

I think they are all disappointed with there own outcomes, but it had lead to a fantastic oppotunity to change the entire system....
