Well this club was short lived, shame it has closed after only being open a few months, i have only attended on a social night and found it to be a nice clean friendly place. Harry you done well shame it never worked out.

Yes it is a shame but it was slated in the local newspaper, poorly shown by the same newspaper and wasnt just for swinging either, married couples were welcome for parties too. I think that really it was the location, the listed building was fantastic and Harry had tried to keep some of the original work including the 3 ghosts but the religious nuts and ignorant bigots are as pleased as punch judging by the comments on the article.

I thought it was a really nice friendly place too, some wonderful artwork, some of this work was displayed by a 19 yr old female artist and were superb. All the rooms were really nice, the guys who were working on the road outside, were staying at the hotel so it was being used. The disco was fantastic, huge room and lovely staff too. Shame ive only been on the tour and not had chance to try out the rooms

I think the main problem was that really people were against it before it had barely begun, for instance, an article in the newspaper asked for artists to design the room complete with a budget but when Harry approached the students, they knew nothing about it it and were quite rightly so, hacked off about it. That was because he wrote to the Art Director at the college but never got a response.

I hope it comes back but not in the town centre and it certainly wasnt frequented by the local prostitutes etc as the head church leader said either, funny because men of the cloth have a more sick perverted sexual appetite than swingers do, something they go to prison for but we wont.

Actually, it was was widely discussed in the local paper and for every 1 that objected, there were at least 1/2 doz that spoke up for it and thought it was a fab idea and would bring some colour to Glos - including a few councillors. So I think "small-town-spirit" community is a bit off!

I am NOT accusing anybody of anything here, want to make that perfectly clear - I was merely musing over why such a beautiful and artistic club could nor drum up even more support.

I spoke to Claire the events organiser there a few weeks back and she was very worried about the Saturday afternoon club being held there (strippers pole dancers etc.) as the law has been changed and places that have that sort of activity there now need to have a sex establishment licence (check out the direct gov site its on there) this cant of helped as they would not have got a licence due to the objections they had already had. (Oddly enough a swingers club doesn't need to have a licence!)

Probably because swinger clubs are or should be members only and not open for anyone to just walk in off the street, after paying the entrance fee, of course! This is why the Erotica show in London is so tame and not showing much nudity. The tight organisers won`t pay for a "sexual encounter" licence from the local council, although having said that, it would probably cost a fourtune!
