I was just making some toast for breakfast and decided it would be a nice change to have beans on toast (I only normally use baked beans when I am cooking a full breakfast and I only really do that when I have guests)…. but anyway, I fount a tin of beans in the pantry, took the tin and a pan to the hob and then ….......

I realised there was no ring-pull on the tin

I briefly felt a slight amount of hardship and inconvenience at having to use a tin opener

God we have it easy in this country... thankfully!

Love those little gadgets you get for pulling the ring on the can....even simpler and no broken nails

If you've had the tin for longer than 13 years then it's fucking Maggie's faulty. Bitch!

She may be responsible for a lot of things, but, sadly I cannot rest the burden of blame on her shoulders for my tin of beans lacking in the ring-pull department …. though I may well have bought the beans whilst out working and so they may well have been bought in a Conservative constituency…….. the bastards!

You're holding it wrong (I bet you've never been told that either).... I find tins opened with tin openers dribble down the sides more than ring-pull ones.

Dribbling down the sides isn't a bad thing

Ok I am guilty of actively looking to see if the can is a ring pull or not when I am shopping !!!!!!!!

If it doesn't the contents had better be special or it goes back on the shelf

Are you offering to lend a hand if I am unable to just pull?

Lol it's not just cans. I was shopping with my daughter on Wednesday and sent her to pick up the peppers, mushrooms etc.

When I took the mushrooms out last night I too felt a sense of hardship and "stressed" after a long day at work. What caused this: my daughter had picked up whole mushrooms instead of the sliced ones...tsk!!

I’ve got an electronic stapler…. you just push the paper in and it does the rest. It grieves me when I have to manually press a stapler.
