Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I gave a woman 10p to make up the shortfall in her bus fare.

I'm not sure it counts as I did it so that the bus wouldn't be delayed.

Ok it wasn't my random act of kindness but I had an act of kindness carried out on me..I was running late for work this morning and was rushing to a meeting...I get on the tram and the conductor checks my pass (it had expired yesterday and I didn't know) I thought it was the 7th today anyway the inspector comes on and checks my tickets and says your pass has run out you will have to get off the next stop I tried to explain that I was late and he was having none of it....anyway I did not have any cash on me and this lovely lady who was standing next to me paid for a single fare to get me to work and said have a lovely day... I asked how do I get the money back to her and she said if anyone is in this situation then do it for them...very kind and generous person she was...

Found an iPhone on the side of the road the screen and speaker were smashed. Managed to track down the owner he was from Brighton had dropped out of his pocket on his motorbike. Anyhow to cut a long story short he got his phone back so that's my random act of kindness and must admit it made me feel quite good knowing that !

Matlock

Was at a local art exhibition and chatting to one of the exhibitors. She was hungry hadn't had anything to eat all day but was struggling to get anything to eat there cos she's gluten intolerant. I always have some gluten free stuff in the freezer so I popped home and made her a sandwich. Happy smiles all round.

A random act of kindness was carried out for me last summer.I was taking my elderly dog for a stroll down the canal towpath when he slipped and his back legs went into the water.Being a big dog,i was struggling to get him out.Along the path came a very smartly dressed gentleman who promptly helped me and ended up rather muddy!I offered to pay a dry cleaning bill but he was having none of it,He gave the dog a hug and went on his way!

I'll list a few that have happened recently.

I helped an old lady carry her holdall up the long flight of stairs at a train station that has no lift.

I helped a woman with her shopping when she kept tripping over herself in the high street. Walked to her car with her and put it all in the back of the boot.

Ran after a man who accidentally left his card in the ATM.

Came across a lady with two young kids in her broken down car

Got the car off the road for her then gave her and the kids a lift to their home.

It's nice to be nice is such a true saying.

I quite often give people money if they haven't enough fare or short of a few pence in a shop. I gave a homeless person £10 recently as he looked like he was starved. I give homeless people money now and then if I have change. We help the local old ladies now and then as they struggle with putting in new bulbs and such

On the small side of things I always carry some sweets and hand them out to people. It seems to brighten up everyone's day.

Not too long back I put £40 in an envelope and posted it to a friend in need. No return address and used my typewriter to address it.

You know those money off vouchers if you spend over a certain amount the supermarkets print out with your receipt? I rarely spend enough in on go to use them so I regularly hand them to someone who looks like their shopping would qualify.

I also gave a beggar a coffee and a hot sausage roll recently cos he looked frozen.

About an hour ago. I took an elderly man by the hand and walked him to the pharmacy as he was a bit lost. I see an old man and my heart melts, so it wasn't a selfless act. He took one listen to my accent and then talked about that lovely Russell Watson.

Awww, I wanted to take him home and cook his dinner.

I went shopping the other day, and a homeless guy outside asked for change. I didn't have any, which I said to him, I heard him call after me 'sandwich then please?' I went to do my shopping. Bought him 2 sandwich meal deals amd some hot cooked chicken thighs.

When I gave him the bag of stuff, he thanked me profusely and asked if I'd given him the wrong bag!

I've taken a cutting and looked after the plant for the last few months. It's for my friend. I am giving it to her tomorrow.

Also, I kindly painted the hall for my husband today.

Taking an old lady in a wheelchair up to a stroke unit so that she could see her best friend who she'd known since childhood, and she visited this friend every day. really made me realise how many people take the concept of friendship for granted

Took a bag of clothes in for another elderly lady in my Nan's nursing home, as she hardly ever has visitors & her clothes were looking thread bare. Her reaction made my day.

Rescued a hedgehog that was poorly & took it to the wildlife centre where apparently now it's doing well.

Years ago I was driving my lorry seen a young woman with a flat tyre was ahead of schedule so decide to see if she needed a hand. She had a go at me saying not all women need rescuing and could easy change a tyre. I tried and failed at.my random act

Be careful with giving someone in the street money as some are not really homeless but using begging/homelessness as a way of earning money, saw it on a programme on tv

When I visit the cemetery to look after my parents grave, I always tidy up theirs and the one's belonging to mum's near neighbours, they were good friend's to my mum after dad went, especially one woman who went out of her way to help and her kids turned out to be self centred yobs who didn't want to know her and made her life a misery after their dad left for another woman.

She may be gone but her acts of kindness are still remembered and rewarded after her death.

that is really lovely. I saw a mother and her kids give someone we all know. Is homeless and an alcoholic, coffee, a banana and a sandwich the other day. Really thoughtful. Must admit that there are some bad stories about money and beggars. My exec old law firm sacked a trainee (on £38k) who was begging at cannon street station who was earning up to 5k a week begging there.

On a recent night out in central London there was a homeless guy begging. I asked him if he would like a mcdonalds as that's where we were headed to soak up the booze. It was only a few minutes out my way and the guy was so grateful when I handed him is big mac meal. Bless him.

Found a stray Labrador in terrible condition, cold, wet, filthy, hungry in the middle of the night. Took it home as out of hours for the dog warden and then next day took it to be scanned for a microchip. Didn't have one and I didn't have the heart to leave it at the kennels and risk it being PTS after the obligatory 7 days. Was signed over to me for the 28 day period allowing the owner to come forward and claim. Sadly for me and the dog the owner did come forward some 4 days later, a traveller and she had to go back to him. Broke my heart but the law is the law. She had a lovely few days anyway

Yeah I tend not to give money and the reaction sometimes to a coffee and a sarnie makes it clear that they are not really homeless and hungry

She didn't look at me let alone thank me so havent bothered with any since People just don't deserve it.

He isn't homeless at all. My mate knows exactly where he lives and he's got a car too.

I was stood at the local train station and a lady asked me to use her phone as she had lost hers - it had fallen out of her jacket as she cycled from work to the train station that evening. She was distressed as it was her work phone. It didn't respond, but we got chatting anyway, she boarded the train and away she went.

So that evening, having gained enough information about where she worked, I went and walked the route she would have cycled and found her phone. Next day, I dropped it anonymously into reception where she worked.

My friend gave a homeless man a tenner and then he went to the pub. A couple of minutes later the homeless man ran in and went up to his friends and said "some saps just give me a tenner"

I buy them a drink, a hot pasty and a cake. I've done this a number of times.

Best way I think, don't want them spending my hard earned money on booze, fags or drugs! That's for me to spend my money on!!
