Poison...!!!

If you find a bottle of poison, past its sell by date... Is it more, or less poisonous...?

The Black Hand Gang of 1914 had cyanide pills that failed to kill them when consumed because they were old or out-of-date but there are lots of poisons out there

I think it's a good idea to avoid poisons in general

If a poison has a use by/sell by date, it will most probably be because it's an organic compound that is the poisonous active ingredient. Organic molecules break down over time, from heat, uv, microbial action, reactions within the constituents of the liquid... if however it is a heavy metal poison like Arsenic containing solution (which I doubt very much it would be) that would stay pretty potent ad infinitum. If it's a killer such as sodium chlorate, that will be pretty stable too... I can't see many opportunities for the compounds to become more toxic, only some of them will become less poisonous, though probably it would be better off not actually drinking them to find out...

Only reason it would become more potent after "going off" is if some toxic microorganism had bred in there which is unlikely. Usually it means it won't work after the expiry date but will still be dangerous so dispose of safely
