Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Apparently no one wants a Gertrude or a Bertha and they definitely don't want Cecil, Willies and Rowlands.

I quite like Gertrude.

What names are being lost and which would you never give to a child?

A lot of old names are making a return. Not sure if Ethel would be popular.

Nicer than "Chardonnay" though. Or "BehindSuperdrug". (Place of conception names)

Why aren't there more "Backoftaxi" people then?

I like old fashioned names. Martha is my favourite girls name. I know one or two elsie's and someone I know has just called their little girl Maude which I think is an awful name

im going to call my girl montanna, but not after the place. it has history in my life as a turning point. again not the place.

its inevitable that older names will die out as the english language changes. but i do think some people should put more thought and consideration when naming.

i was named after the man my mother had an affair with... thanks mum haha

If I'd had a girl her middle names were going to be Sylvia Alice after my nan and great nan. I don't know anyone called Sylvia since my nan passed away. X

I like some good old fashioned names and nice to see them coming back into fashion. Can't stand some of the modern names, like Jordan, Tyler, Chardonnay etc but each to their own.

The one girls name I wouldn't choose would be Lucy. Perfectly lovely name, but forever associated with a girl known as Juicy Lucy when I was about 14 for reasons of her ample breasts and I don't think I'd ever be able to get that image out of my mind which just wouldn't be right would it!

There are just not enough Harold's in the world! And what about Merv? Where did Delilah go? Probably somewhere with Deloris?

Alfie is on the rise lately though.

So not after the herb Sorrel? Say it in the West Indies and they'll think it's a drink made from the herb.
