I was fourteen working in Woolworths collecting and counting the money on Saturdays and during the school holidays.

I don't know how they managed without me during term time as I was always busy and the adult staff were busy too.

Petrol pump attendant aged 15 (illegal now) I worked during the school holidays 1-6pm. It was an overnight stay for truckers and also had a breakers yard & Café.

Filling wagons with 40 gallons of diesel in both tanks when it's freezing cold and the stop on mechanism is fucked is not a good experience.

Mind you I got paid £22 a week, happy days

You had a photocopier? Wow! I remember the Roneo printer. I had to type up the stencils and ink the roller. I also did a stint on a doll's eye switchboard. I was taught word processing on a Wang and used to send telex messages to America.

I had more jobs than Hilda Ogden...morning n evening paper rounds (waged) plus Sunday round (self employed) from age 12/13.... Age 13 onwards also worked in local shop ( for local people)...was quite well off at that age, looking at approx £20 a week in early 80s

First proper (I.e. Tax paying job) was waitressing @ £1.50 per hour circa 1983...jeez, those were the days, felt like a millionaire

I actually have had various jobs from a fairly early age (for my generation at least) as I found I prefered cash to boredom.
