So I moved into a lovely country listed house. And over the winter its got damp on the front room wall.

I rang the builders who now have to come back and take the wall right back to plaster to sort it out.... aghhhhh. I hate mess!

and who thought damp was a different meaning?

The land of grey peas and bacon

well at least you are getting it sorted...you will be surprised at how many live in properties that are badly affected by damp and either can't afford to get it sorted or the landlord won't sort it

Plaster dust gets everywhere!

When I had a wall replastered I even had plaster dust in my knickers....I thought my vaginal wall had collapsed

Actually I always think of Chinese medicine - people can have damp - damp heat or cold damp even, wonderful descriptive terms they use! You can have damp heat in the upper burner!!

There is no point at all taking plaster back 1 mtr high the stone or brick has to be injected very good product on market now do it yourself just drill holes and inject can be plastered same day

Damp is a right swine to get rid of. I've not got it, but in a previous job I dealt with plenty who did have water damage and it used to take forever to sort out.
