...Up on the Downs

Is it Thursday, can I have a rant please?? Do guys not realise that a 'conversation' on a mobile consisting of half line sentences is not really going to have us ladies entranced, it's more like pulling teeth!! Get a laptop, wait 'til you have time to type more with one finger, change SOMETHING!!!

I thank you.......

Why would the device make a difference to a person's communication style? I'm on my mobile now and conversing in full sentences

I don't know but it seems to. A few years ago before everyone used mobiles messages were always a few lines long at least.

I can see why, I hate typing on a mobile - I use my desktop whenever possible.

I would have to agree with everyone, a bad workman always blames his tools as the saying goes and most smart phones are really easy to use while conversing with people.

I think a lot of guys do. I remember my 'beloved vet' as I used to call my horse vet - we would chat for hours in person or on the phone, but I could never get more than a line out of him over email.

I just wondered if they realised that it really does not do them any favours.

The penny will drop as very soon for them when you have moved on to pastures greener and more entertaining. Their loss for sure.

Well, this is my heads up! Men of Fabs - many ladies need more than one line each message!!

Ah not a conversation as in speak but the written word conversation.

Dunno but if they can do that on a mobile then in all probability they would do it on anything.

Duly noted Frisky_Mare thanks for the heads up, and may you find the man with the words in his vocabulary to enjoy lots of thrilling and enlighten conversation with. Have a happy rest of your Thursday x

Why continue chatting to someone if you don't like their communication style?

I tend not to, though some of my favourite meets are rubbish online. But that's my point - they could be really nice guys that get repeatedly rejected because they are assuming that the kind of text/micro conversations one might have in other circumstances are enough, and they are often not.

As a bit of a social Neanderthal myself I prefer short and sweet. I rabbit on in person but I don't want to be staring at my phone reading a novel all day long

Haha, I might like the grunting!

But sadly for the guys concerned there is so much choice on here I won't even meet for coffee if someone does not interest me online first.

I thought it was just me that liked grunting.

Nope, same thing. Sometimes I have met someone for other reasons, and have had a wonderful meet, and they are still rubbish online - so that is my point, there are wonderful guys out there who are not getting meets because of their reluctance/inability to communicate well on a phone app.

Have you considered the guy might be doing his best he may have typing issues he might have an old phone or on a budget as times are tough. some guys don't make an effort some women don't too I just hope he doesn't realise this and feel ridiculed.

It's aimed at the many, no-one in particular, though I did actually mentioned it to one guy I was talking to this morning, and he agreed it was difficult - suggested we talk on the phone instead.

BTW Honeypot what is that garment you have on in your avatar pic, I really like it/them - but I cannot message you direct to ask??
