Anyone got any suggestions of decent enough makes to play the elder scrolls, store photos, use webcam etc. don't want to spend a fortune. Gonna get it on a interest free for a year deal so I can spread the cost x

I've got a decent one. I can't recall the make as it is downstairs and I'm in the study at the moment, avoiding suspicious looking types with candlesticks. When I go down to put the kettle on I'll have a gleg at it and let you know

as a family we have all had acers but had problems with the leads and had to buy spare ones (not a huge issue but a pia) - currently on a packard bell and its been fine -

Well I was a massive oblivion fan and didn't get chance to play the newer one as my ex got the Xbox in the split lol but they're advertising an online one on the TV at the mo! Should be brilliant x

Have a look at the dell xps range they usually have a decent graphics card instead of standard onboard chips.

Failing that look for a laptop that has a decent graphics capability ( they will usually have Nvidia or AMD graphics ) that way you will be able to play most new games just not on ultra settings lol

If you need any advice post up the model your looking at and will be happy to advise

ASUS N550LF-CK095H 15.6" Touchscreen Laptop - Silver, I had a HP one and the main problem with that was it was prone to over heating and would just shut off mid game. ggrrrrrr.

Alien ware is great just very pricy. PC world have lots with NVIDIA® graphic cards in. Your always better to have a external graphic cards than internal. Hope this helps

i think an i5 4200U can play skyrim on medium`ish settings

use dual channel memory for an added framerate boost

ive got an i5 3230M with HD4000 and was reading up if it can run skyrim. apparently dual channel can give you an extra 10 fps which can make a huge diff

i`d go i5 with HD4000 or HD4400 integrated graphics

loads of laptop brands will carry those processor and graphics pairings

dell and hp do some nice laptops for build quality

look for a laptop with a 4th gen i5 4200U processor in it if budget permits. These come with integrated HD4400 graphics as standard. They have come a long way and can give you some pretty good basic gaming

dual channel is where our laptop has 2 memory/RAM slots. Most will come with 1 ram chip taking up 1 slot. If you buy another ram chip thats the same and stick it in the second slot you run in dual channel mode which gives a performance boost. especially graphics processing

yes a PC you find that even so called gaming laptop are not supported by games like elder scrolls online D3 B4 and the like.

They say they will run the game but trying asking for help from the game it is sorry we do not support laptops.

I have had a couple of dell they will build into it exactly what you ask for . always helpful and the aftercare is excellent if you pay the insurance package.They come to your home and fix it.I would have bought another but the new model trackpad and mouse button had a loud click which was exceptionally annoying as I did farm alot and the constant click was doing my head in.

I have an HP now been ok so far I tried loads and they seem to have put a spring under the mouse button now which makes the noise Arggggg !!! hp least noisy lol..

Do not get a Sony or dell there all over priced crap, Acer support is bad as well.

HP, Toshiba, ASUS and Lenovo are all worth looking at.

For gaming the cost of goodish laptop you can get a much better pc and screen for the same price.

You could go for a MSI laptop from SCAN.co.uk they start at just under £700 for 15 inch screen with a i7 4800mq processor 8 gig of ram and 2 gig gtx740mvideo card 1TB hard drive. 720P HD webcam. You have to add on the cost of the O/S but on the good side you can get windows 7 64bit premium on and not windows 8.

To play game that is the sort of rig that will Elder scrolls online well. As I said before you might have problems with it been a laptop and they might just say sorry we not support laptop. It is worth asking first I guess.

You want min of an i7 processor or AMD A10 processor.

For memory or ram 8 gig min

For video you are looking at min of nvidi geforce 400 or above. or an ATI HD 5770 or above the video is the main to look at.

Hard drive min is 500 gig

HD webcams are the best to get.

My friends and I got dell pc all at the same time a yew years back. they all went wrong. yes they come and fix it after the 4 time for me we work. It gave a CPU error code. It had a new mainboard and CPU still same fault. it was the keyboard in the end. They then said they would not fix as it was not a dell keyboard using I had tried a differing one. I was not happy I was forced to by a new dell keyboard okay did not cost a lot. It fixed it for two week but I then had the same fault back they would not fix the pc saying it was a keyboard fault then would not fix the keyboard say the pc was fault as it gave a CPU error code so could not be the keyboard.

In the end I just put a differing main board in and that fixed the fault for good.

3 pc at the same time 3 big problem pc. There laptop are know to blow up as well lol.

Still like you said you had a okay time with them.
