So, had my phone on charger noticed a message about overheating, picked the phone up to find it was red hot! Unplugged it, but three hours later it won't turn on.

I've checked online for solutions: nothing! So turning to the wise and wonderful (sniggers) for help!

Sounds like Sudden Death Syndrome where the phone fries its motherboard. It was a fault that happened to my S3. Samsung fixed it free of charge but had to go through my provider to obtain a fault code. I'm afraid what was on it will be lost.

Sorry

Did your phone turn on at all? Another possibility is the battery is fried. You could test that out by going into a phone shop and asking if you could borrow a battery just to test the theory.

That's dangerous.

If that's a known fault to them, then that's just asking for legal action. Especially if someones house burns down or some child gets hold of it.

Checking online I've discovered it's a known fault. One guy had to take it out of his pocket it was so hot!

have you tried connecting said phone to a pc with a data cable.battery in and battery out just to see if you can recover

some media off the phone. I have no idea if this is possible just something I would try before I take it back to the retailer.

That's what happens when you're hot stuff and too sizzling for fab.

...the phone may have gone kaboom! Have you got warranty on it? They can sort it for you.

After my Windows phone crashed a couple of years ago I don't keep anything on my phone I rely on/ want.

Only had the phone a few months so getting it repaired not a problem.
