It leads to further correspondence which is often rude and aggressive. Far easier to ignore, delete and block: life's too short to engage in endless correspondence with people you're not going to meet!  | |||

I agree with you Provocative, also a believer in what goes around comes around so I try to do a nice thing for someone at least once a day....even if it's just taking a couple of bars of chocolate into work to share with co-workers. "Funny you should say that - I often take home made cakes into work as people love the German ones. It just gives me a buzz when I see other people happy - I know it may sound a bit cheesy but it is nonetheless true. | |||

"to be honest there was so much stuff i had to read and it was a while ago that i think most of it has left my brain! i drifted away from psychology into sociology although at times they felt the same! maslow was also self actualisation and mead? there were a few think my brain needin a clear out lol xx" Now we are talking - one of my hobbies - Maslow (and I am forever debating this with my partner) to me is a great model to illustrate the hierarchy of human needs whereas HE HIMSELF argues that Maslow is not comprehensive enough. | |||

Tell us more? "We have basic needs (hygiene needs) which, when not met, cause us to be dissatisfied. Meeting these needs does not make us satisfied - it merely prevents us from becoming dissatisfied. However, there is a separate set of needs which, when resolved, do make us satisfied. These are called motivators. An example could be: I need to be paid on time each month so I can pay my bills. If I am not paid on time, I get really unhappy. But when I get paid on time, I hardly notice it. On the other hand, when my boss gives me a pat on the back, I feel good. Tell us more?
We have basic needs (hygiene needs) which, when not met, cause us to be dissatisfied. Meeting these needs does not make us satisfied - it merely prevents us from becoming dissatisfied.
However, there is a separate set of needs which, when resolved, do make us satisfied. These are called motivators.
An example could be:
I need to be paid on time each month so I can pay my bills. If I am not paid on time, I get really unhappy. But when I get paid on time, I hardly notice it.
