Songs you want played at your funeral

Jump to newest

What 3 songs would you want and why?

Mine would be.

if I can dream just because its amazing

Burning love as I want to be cremated and it will lift the mood ( we did this for my dad)

And I know its over, not sure why just seems right for a funeral

Groove is in the heart by dee-lite.

And everyone has to do the dance like the woman in the flared catsuit.

I want a farce funeral.

If I was forced to pick something with personal resonance either love will tear us apart by joy division or Princes forever in my life.

I want to donate my body to medical science, so hopefully there won't be a funeral.

If there is, then I want "Celebrate" to be played, not because I'm dead, but to celebrate my life.

I've been to so many funerals recently, and they're such dreary events, even my own parents ones. They should be a celebration of their lives

xx

I Believe, Joe Satriani

I Believe, Booth and the Bad Angel

(two completely different tracks, both a bit special though!)

And like several others here, Monty Python`s Always Look on the Bright Side of Life

Been to too many funerals lately, but came out of one crying with laughter, the departed had chosen Star Trekking Across the Universe to go out to... And several of the congregation donned Spock ears

Other than that I'd quite like arsehole by Snuff but concede that that could be slightly inappropriate. So would probably go for Ruby Soho by Rancid (I also want destination unknown sprayed onto the side of my coffin) and The Wonder Stuff's Good Night Though.

Titz Towers, North Notts

I'm not fussed about the songs, but I want a good stand up comedian booking. The idea being he plays the Padre, starts off playing it straight, but then introduces mirth into the reading. Family and loved ones almost do themselves an injury trying to keep a straight face as it is a funeral and you cannot laugh by law. Apparently.

How can people even consider/think/plan their own death?

That's the ultimate definition of morbid.

...even if this thread is just for laughs.

I can't get there in my head. It's so morbid.

You get one go in this world...you should be rocking life!

Some do though its the big event aka the wedding but your not there! Ok so you are but you are not dancing. People like to plan it pay for it even sort the food at the wake. I hark expect someone to pop up at some point and say they have a stripper planned for the mourners at some point.

That actually happened here a couple months ago, dude was buried on his Harley. They even put it on a trailer so he could have a last ride.

No shit lol.....iv alway fancied it. Wish I could remember the films name. It was some horror thing the guy was a propper bad motha but was fucked up big time so just rung probly z1000 neck an give it all right off the end of a bridge never forgot it an I bet it was 30 yrs ago somthing like that. An before some smart arse says it couldn't have been a z1000 then "

The film was called Psychomania.
