Inbreeding maybe.

I put mine in last in both tea and coffee.

Tea needs to brew before milk is added and coffee just tastes a bit weird with it in last.

the idea of milk first in tea was the fine china cups would crack if the hot tea was put in first the milk softened the thermal shock

Asolutely this , and don't you just hate those slovenly people that leave the tea bag in as they add the milk !! Do they have no understanding of the infusion process ???

Last or the fat in the milk stops the tea infusing

Sorry what are these bag things ?????

Tea should always be made in a teapot with loose tea and use a fine mesh strainer when pouring out

Sugar, tea bag, water, stew for a minute and THEN milk.

Today I shall be putting aside all of the above and just going straight for the G&T!!

If you use a tea bag in the cup, milk last, tea is supposed to be made with boiling water, coffee shouldn't be made with boiling water so milk first.

Last as I can add more if I feel it's not enough but cannot take milk away if too much when added first, if that makes sense

"Tea: milk first or last?"

Tea should be made in a pot, not tea bg in cup. Milk should go in first before pouring in the tea, that way your cups do not get badly stained.

I am persona non grata as I don't drink tea or coffee. I rarely make it for others.
