dvd dilema.

I've decided to go through my 500 odd dvd/blu-ray collection and decide which ones to sell. My bed is crammed packed and im getting too sentimental over boxsets. Also feeling rather sick at the amount of money I've spent.

How do I get through this dilema as all i want is my bed back and to watch Shameless right from the very beginning

3000+ movie dvds here.

Considering ripping them to hard drives then selling them. The space is getting a little unmanageable.

All about the virtual library now. We got rid of hard copies years ago and now stream / store movies and boxsets through the home network...in glorious HD too.

Much the same as the way audio media progressed.

Doesn't help with the current dilemna we know, agree with another post, rip to hard drive and try and sell them on.

The crystal set says rip to hard drive, but as you won't get much for them, consider using some of your favourites to decorate the wall in the loo or the outhouse as it would be really novel. Also consider posting some of the more 'C' movie titles through your friends letterboxes just to confuse them.

Car boot.

You'll get sod all on eBay after postage and fees and that site you see advertised on the telly (the black and white bird related one ) gives 30p a DVD - including boxes sets!

Yes I did have a check of mention birdie and they can bog off. Lol

Put loads on FB and maybe car boot them. I dunno..i'll think again tomorrow hahaa

Have you tried ziffit? They individually price dvds depending on rarity they take books as well.

We've just got Mad Men Series 6 on box set DVD

Which we will watch then straight back on EBay it goes.

We tend to (legally) download any movies we want to see these days. And really enjoy a night out on the back row in the cinema too!

Might as well keep what you're sentimetal over as you know you'll just build up a stockpile again in time.

Grab what you can and do a garage/yard sale or a car boot sale. Maximum profit. I was doing yard sales ever saturday last summer with dvd's at £1 each and books for 50p and was making £30 a day.

All the while I was cooking for buffets in the kitchen to add up extra cash

Oh cool.. I love all my films and as we dont have live tv we tend to buy box sets however we have no room to store them and trying to go minimalistic. Sounds like the way forward x

A TV USB will only play AVI & the Russian MKV is fast becoming a more popular format as its far smaller than AVI.

Yes im finding it all too much today..I get too attached to my precious things..no wonder I have a house full of crap lol along with my Dads stuff and Aunties lol.

Mine plays Avi, MP4, MKV - and not yet found a file format it won't!
