Do people come up and talk to you, or is it you that usually goes and starts talking to people?

We (me and my man pal) were at a party recently and realised that apart from people we'd met/ chatted to before, no-one came and talked to us.

When we're on our own we go and chat to people. Not sure if it's something odd about us when we're together.

It greatly depends on the other person's sense of humour and thickness of their skin. If someone is easily offended then they will probably find me quite obnoxious and unapproachable.

On buses I appear to be totally irresistible to tramps, people who smell of wee and the verbally incontinent.

I regard myself as quite insular naturally but at work I have to be the total opposite.

Love one on one more than group situations as i enjoy working out what makes the other person tick. Fascinated with why people are who they are.

Face to face I'm very approachable, I am generally a lively, chatty person. If I don't chat or the conversation is forced then its because I don't like that person, and I can tell instantly how its going to be as I read body language and facial expression very well.

Generally I can chat for hours with people. For some reason old ladies tend to like to chat to me and I also enjoy the older generations stories

According to a friend of mine, I am intimidating because I'm well spoken, and can be very aloof.

When out he mentioned a few times that men look at me but don't have the balls to approach me.

So that would be a no then....

Yet when working in customer service, I had clients approach me as I seemed friendly.

I Mr liddy am a properly miserable old man I tried to avoid any sort of human contact as much as possible, even sitting with arms folded and eyes down so nobody even attempts to chat to me, Mrs liddy is super friendly and will just walk up and talk to anyone, and people seem to be drawn to her to talk to her because she stands out, so we sort meet in the middle, well she tells me to stop been a sour face and talk to people lol

Depends what mood I'm in and the situation.

Those charity people in town centres sure do like me and make a beeline for me as soon as they spot me.

even had one lady in Xtasia say 'ughhh do you think I want to speak to you 'and she turned around and walked away with her partner

the funny thing was later on in the evening we saw them sat in the same chairs as when they walked into the place still looking as miserable as sin , we were having a whale of a time at the bar chatting to all sorts of folks ,but we kept on catching a glare or a scowl from them as if we had spoiled their evening , yes they were a very good looking couple ,I was probably punching above my weight but unfortunately they had their heads so far up their own arses they couldnt see a good time if it smacked them in the face

very - i will talk to anybody - im the one who gets peoples life story and sob stories - but it has also made me better at my job as a support worker for people with mental health issues so listening and chatting is good

When my FB and I are together we find that its always us that has to initiate conversations but when either of us are on our on, people will approach us all the time. Maybe something to do with being absorbed with one another or maybe its harder to chat to two people rather than one. Is interesting and an area I think should be studied by Sydney University.

It varies. Ask someone who went to the Sussex Social if I was approachable. I think people do approach me but veer off at the last minute as if they'd just seen something very interesting in the middle distance and it was that they were investigating all along and eye contact with me and their little engaging smile was, in fact, a mere whim of physics and an attempt to remove some food from their teeth without using their fingers.
