"Depends on type of wound Surgical, sutured." Are you hoping to speed up the healing process or is something amiss?

"Depends on type of wound Surgical, sutured. Are you hoping to speed up the healing process or is something amiss?" Nothing amiss. My understanding of optimal healing is a moist environment is better and I was wondering if this is true and wanted to ask anyone with that knowledge. I've also been reading the advice on bathing/showering or not with sutures and I'm after opinions about that.

To reduce scarring, moist is better for the first few days - antiseptic cream under a bandage. To speed skin adhesion, dry is better.
