My answer to both questions is the same. I was born a few miles from where I live now. I did live over the border for four years though but came back to welsh Wales.

Brighton - even Hove!

I've lived in Brighton a tad longer than the East Midlands, so I say Brighton.

London

Mine would be the same for both. I've not lived or worked more than eight miles from where I was born. My eldest was born in the same ward as I was.

Manchester born and raised.

Never lived more than 20 miles from my birth place.

It is definately home. I can't imagine living anywhere else on a long term basis.

JN is from Liverpool but without the accent.

Manchester will be his home from summer tho

Moved from my place of birth to what's since been the family home the following 48 years. But I still struggle to decide which location to declare I'm from!

I have never said im from Walsall, I have no roots or ties here and no love for where I live.

I'm from Salford and when I pop my clogs could someone kindly chuck me in the river Irwell as my final resting place, Ta very much.

started life in South Glamorgan, spent a little time in Bucks late teens before going back there.

Moved to Devon in my mid 30's before moving back to Bucks when I was 40.

Been up here in Cheshire for the last 3 yeas or so.

Accent wise some say I have a West country burr and find it amusing when I say words such as farmer, tractor, market or battery.

On the other hand if I'm on the phone to someone in a Welsh call center my roots come back as apparently they do If I'm bollocking someone.

But to answer the question. When I asked where I'm from I say my birthtown bit I live where I am

I think the gold postbox might get vandalised if I had it where I was born and raised for 18 years. Not too sure if it'd be a good idea to put it where I live now.

Titz Towers, North Notts

Mansfield, the place I was born, raised, live and hope to die, in about 2090, give or take.

This thread reminds me of an old Soviet joke. An old fellow is reminiscing: I was born in Tsaritsyn, worked in Stalingrad and retired in Volgagrad.

If asked where I'm from then I answer with where I was born and raised. Which, according to some, causes me to be 'up my own arse'.

Where I live is answered with the obvious.
