Why is it that people are moaning about teachers striking..

yes its an inconvenience for us working parent's, but its a time to be gratefull and spend quality time with your children.

There are people moaning That its stopped them having a meet, well im gonna say put your priorities in the right order..

My son will alwaya be the top of my list, and weve had a wonderful day, we've been walking through the woods, smelt daffodils, watched red squirrels climb trees, played pooh sticks in the river, watched the baby lambs bouncing around the fields.

Its been lovely and lots of photos and happy memorys along the way.

Many employers give staff negativity if they take time off for this sort of thing and it creates inconvenience. Also just because people moan about the strike it bears no relation to how they feel about their children you could say that the parents care more if you flip it and say they are keen for the children to get a full education.

A full education should not be solely based on the kids being at school following a formal curriculum. Parents can teach their kids informally at home. It's an opportunity not a disaster.

Trouble is a lot of parents forget that they have a responsibility towards their children's upbringing and education and like to have someone else to blame for any shortcomings their children may have.

Am one of the lucky ones, am self employed (will be playing catch up tonight )

Had a fun day baking & playing with chocolate moulds!

Walked our dogs & dog sat my best friends dogs, played army in the woods with sticks & now planning cooking tea before the other kids get home x

my son has learnt all about the red squirrel today after seeing one in the woods hes come home n googled all about them to draw a poster.

along with all the questions he asked about the baby lambs while walking through the field n climbing the sty he found a bit of blood so we had a good chat about babys/lambs.

hes studying very hard for his SATS at the moment so it was great for him to have a break and a bit of fun, with family time and without knowing he was learning he learnt new things!!!

Ive had a wonderful day.

Its not like youve just had 12hrs notice about the strike.. most schools made parents aware a month ago that there could be a strike, and most teacher who are striking gave plenty of notice so therefore us parents had plenty of notice....

Just enjoy your day with your children.. they grow up way too quick.

and life is way to short.

Why people moan about having their kids is unreal, you turn Round, and they have their own lives.

There is always another time for a meet, kids come first.

great thread with some lovely comments. I don't have children unfortunately, but I was horrified to hear one mum being interviewed this morning and saying how inconvenient it was as she had to find someone else to 'look after' her kids for the day

Yet these parents will be the 1st to complain if the teachers were not able to perform to there ability to teach the children that are so much of an inconvenience. ..
