police 5 did a test to see how many people would stop if they thought a little girl was lost just one woman did

would you stop and help if you saw a lost looking child?

I have done several times. I read once that men are less likely to stop to help a child as they think people assume they're kidnapping them. Sad state of affairs.

I saw that and it was one person out of over 600....I was really shocked as thought it would be a lot more. I think that it is partly the fault of society today, in that people are too wary to go near a child for fear of any repercussions....very sad.

It's very sad, but so many people are scared of what might happen if they talk to, or try to take the child somewhere. Also, a lot of gangs use a small child to lure people .

Depends if she was crying and looking upset. It's a bit difficult for men as unfortunately if your seen with a girl alone and she looks upset it's assumed your up to no good. I'd probably find out what was wrong and then stop a passing woman for help.

I did just last week,the little girl was just about to step out of the shop,i found an assistant and handed her over to her,saw her reunited with her Mum just before I left the store

A few years back I found a child wandering along park lane in london.. this was pre me having a mobile.. I was heading off to meet my OH who was working at one of the hotels. I stopped and spoke to the child who was about 4 little boy. he didnt seem to know where his mum was i waited a while and then walked him down to the hotel and called the police to come fetch him.

At least he was safer with me than alone on the street.

I would do the same today. If our intentions are good we should not worry about stepping in and helping /talking and assisting anyone. We are pretty much aware that cameras are every where so our actions are all monitored.

I could not stand by and watch a child get distressed.

A few years ago I spotted a toddler merrily skipping down the pavement next to a very busy road. I spotted him immediately as it was so conspicuous.

I stopped the car and went over to him, looking around to see if I could see anyone. Whilst trying to stop him walking into traffic, I dialed 999 and the police got there before an anxious older sister did. I didn't pick him up or take him to my car as I absolutely did not want my actions to be misconstrued.

A child falls over, hurts itself, is lost and scared... It gets help, and to hell with the malicious perverted Twats who want to think what they like...

I've helped before, and wouldn't hesitate to do it again... And if this world doesn't like it... Fuck it...!!! Kids come first...

Yeah. All I was told is that the mother was known to them but that I did the right thing so not to let it bother me. It was just one of those incidents that leave a real bad taste in the mouth but looking back I'd do the same again every time.

No never it is just not safe to stop and help. As Wyrdwoman said if some thinks you're to kidnap them then your life is over.

The cops are scum they take all your pc and laptop and from work just to be safe. Then take a year or more to find nothing on them. Sound silly but I know they do it. Happened to a work mate brother.

Then we have the people using then as bait to rob you. They do it with baby seats with a towel over it, why not kids.

The only thing to do it keep going and stop later then call the cops about it.
